Title I - Supplemental Educational Services

Federal Grants to school districts through Title I, Part A provide opportunities for children to acquire the knowledge and skills to meet the state proficiency standards. This purpose is accomplished in two ways: (1) by providing children supplemental support through enriched and accelerated education programs; and (2) by providing instructional personnel in participating schools with substantial opportunities for professional development. In Concord, Title I funds are used to provide in-school reading and math support and extended day and year learning opportunities, parent support through an Extended Learning/Family Resource Facilitator, preschool experiences and educational supplies and materials to be used with eligible students.

Criteria for Title I eligibility for students is not based on multiple assessment outcomes. If school teams deem a child "academically disadvantaged", they will determine the most appropriate intervention, some of which may include meeting with Title I teachers to provide supplemental support to classroom instruction on targeted skills in which the child lacks proficiency. Students will receive targeted interventions and be monitored for success. Families will be notified if their child is eligible for Title I services. If families agree for their child to receive Title I support, then progress reports will be issued for students who receive those services. For more information, please see "Parents Guide to Title I Services" in the Title I Files section below.

Parental involvement is a large part of the Title I program. The links below provide access to parent involvement policies, school progress reports, and new and existing programs. If you have questions, please contact your child’s Title I educator.

Supplemental Educational Services
Supplemental Educational Services Scholarships will be provided this year for students who meet eligibility criteria set forth by the NH Department of Education. The Title I grant has set-aside a significant portion of funding to offer scholarships for tutoring by outside agencies approved by the NH Department of Education. Families will be contacted by the school if their child meets eligibility criteria.

For more information about SES tutoring, please see the District’s SES page. To view the state-wide approved SES providers list, access the NH DOE website.
